When activated, Time Machine monitors your hard drive activity and quietly backups all new and modified files to a backup drive. Time Machine is included with all recent versions of macOS, and it’s possible that you have activated it in the past even if you don’t remember it. Once you have determined that the deleted file is no longer in the Trash Bin and is not possible to recover using the Undo command, you should try to restore it from your Time Machine backup. You can then move to the next recovery method. Still, it’s worth trying just because it’s so simple. The biggest limitation of this file recovery method is that it won’t work if you’ve performed other actions after deleting your file. You can also drag it from the Trash window and drop it to your desktop or any other folder.
